Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information XUMU collects through xumu.ai, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we need, we never sell it, and we use it only to reply to you and run our services.

1. Who we are

XUMU LIMITED is a company registered in Hong Kong (company number 2174407), at 502 Golden House, 30 Pottinger Street, Central, Hong Kong. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at [email protected].

2. What we collect

  • When you contact us: Your name, email address, and anything you write in the contact form or an email.
  • When you browse the site: Technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the site that referred you, and the time of your visit. Our host, WP Engine, records this in server logs, and Google Analytics collects it to show us how the site is used.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we don't ask for sensitive personal information.

3. How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work with you.
  • To send occasional XUMU insights by email, only if you've asked to hear from us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the site secure and understand, in aggregate, how it is used.

4. Legal basis

For visitors in the UK and EU, we rely on our legitimate interests in replying to business enquiries and running our services, and on your consent where we ask for it. You can object to any use based on legitimate interests at any time, including by unsubscribing.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site and our services, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Website hosting and server logs: WP Engine
  • Website analytics: Google Analytics
  • Communications: The email service we use to reply to you

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell or rent personal information.

6. International transfers

XUMU is based in Hong Kong with team members in the UK, and some of our service providers are in the United States. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for these transfers.

7. Cookies

We use cookies the site needs to work, plus Google Analytics cookies that tell us, in aggregate, which pages people visit and how they found us. We don't use advertising cookies and we don't build profiles of individual visitors. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we start working together, in which case we keep project records as long as needed for the work and our legal obligations. Then we delete or anonymise it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.

You can also complain to your data protection authority:

  • Hong Kong: The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD)
  • United Kingdom: The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

10. Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.

Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 October 2026

These terms cover your use of xumu.ai. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Who we are

The site is run by XUMU LIMITED, a company registered in Hong Kong (company number 2174407), at 502 Golden House, 30 Pottinger Street, Central, Hong Kong. Contact: [email protected].

2. What XUMU does

XUMU is a brand strategy and design studio. We work with companies on positioning, identity, voice, brand systems, websites, and related creative and technical work. The site describes our work and lets you contact us. We do not sell products or take payments through it.

3. Enquiries are not a contract

Contacting us or booking a call does not create a contract or a client relationship. Any work we do for you is governed by a separate written proposal or agreement signed by both sides, which sets out scope, fees, payment terms, timing, and ownership of the work. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement wins.

4. Our content

The text, design, images, video, case studies, and other material on the site belong to XUMU or to the people who licensed them to us. Client names and logos belong to their owners and are shown with permission or to describe work we've done.

  • What you can do: You may view and share pages for personal or internal business reference.
  • What you cannot do: You may not copy, republish, or use our content commercially without our written permission.

5. Using the site

Please don't misuse the site: no attempts to break or overload it, gain unauthorised access, scrape it in bulk, or use it to send spam or unlawful content.

6. Links to other sites

The site may link to sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.

7. Liability

The site and its content are provided for general information. We work to keep them accurate and available, but we don't promise they are error-free or always online.

To the extent the law allows, XUMU is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue, data, or business, arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Hong Kong. This does not remove any rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
